The Executive Staff
Richard J. Augustyn
President
Richard Augustyn began his insurance career in 1984, holding positions
in sales, underwriting, claims and management. His insights have been
sought by client and agent groups. Mr. Augustyn is a respected public
speaker and is highly sought after by client and agent groups. He has
also published numerous articles on issues ranging from New Jersey's Workers'
Compensation market to specialized program management.
Steven A. Edwards
Executive Vice President
Steve Edwards is the co-founder of Business & Governmental Insurance
Agency (BGIA), which was founded in 1993. Prior to joining BGIA, Mr. Edwards
held positions in the governmental sector, serving on various government
boards and commissions. He was Finance Chairman of the Union Township
Board of Education, Vice Chairman of the Union County Planning Board,
Governor's Liaison and a Board of Trustee to the Public Employees Retirement
System, and a member of the Union County Improvement Authority. He is
currently active in various civic and charitable causes.
Terence M. Dermody, CPCU, CIC
Vice President
Terry Dermody began his insurance career in 1969. He joined BGIA in 1996
and is currently Vice President overseeing the operations in Property
& Casualty and Risk Management services. He spent 14 years with Aon
Group, formerly Rollins, Burdick & Hunter Co. of NY, as Vice President
of the Commercial Insurance Division specializing in Property & Casualty
insurance and Risk Management services for corporate and public sector
clients. Mr. Dermody holds the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriting
(CPCU) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) professional designations
and is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University with a BA in Political
Science.
Stuart Migdon, CPA, CLU
Director of Employee Benefits
Stuart Migdon began his career in public accounting. He obtained a Certified
Public Accountant designation and entered the financial services industry
in 1984, advising clients on insurance and financial matters. For the
last ten years, Mr. Migdon has specialized in health insurance and other
related areas affecting both employers and employees. He joined BGIA in
1993 as the Director of Employee Benefits. Mr. Migdon graduated from Dowling
College with a BA in Accounting.
Mark Sullivan, CPCU, ARM
Vice President
Mr. Sullivan is a graduate of The College of Insurance and has an extensive
background in insurance underwriting, marketing and account management.
He has significant experience in the areas of large accounts, large deductibles,
SIRs, loss sensitive/cash flow program analysis and self-insurance program
management. Mr. Sullivan was previously with the Allied Group of Companies
where he was responsible for large accounts with premiums of up to $2,000,000.
George J. Klinger, ARM
Director of Loss Prevention
George Klinger began his insurance career with the Aetna Insurance Company
in 1968. His experience encompasses fire protection, construction safety
product and professional liability, and Public Entity loss control strategy.
He joined BGIA in 1996 and currently manages the loss control operations.
Mr. Klinger has an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation, AFP
in Fire Protection Technology, AFS in Fleet Safety Management, OSHA Certification
and is a certified New Jersey Fire Official. Mr. Klinger earned his BS
in Engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
